Leading with Compassion Into the AI Future
Featuring Unilever's Selina Sykes

Free Community Event

June 3, 2026 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM ET / 15:00-16:00 UTC

Welcome friends! We invite you to connect with the global community of compassionate colleagues and change-makers. Together we will explore Claude Silver’s deeply human and compassionate roadmap for building trust, leading with heart, and creating cultures where people fully belong. Participants will learn how to embody authentic presence through the three pillars of her breakthrough framework: Emotional Optimism, Emotional Bravery, and Emotional Efficiency. Her timely new book, Be Yourself at Work: The Groundbreaking Power of Showing Up, Standing Out, and Leading from the Heart, is one of the Center for Compassionate Leadership’s five Recommended Reads of 2025. Please register for the free event to reserve your spot.

Unilever’s Selina Sykes helps us all learn how to put compassionate leadership into action under the most challenging conditions. Charged with spearheading digital transformation and AI, she meets the dizzying speed of change, market opportunity, and global uncertainty with solutions that keep humanity front and center. Leading with and for compassion, she is an inspiration for all leaders who aspire to create cultures that care about doing great things, while caring for their people.

As Vice President, Marketing Transformation and Social-First, Beauty & Wellbeing at Unilever, Selina leads global marketing capability. She is currently spearheading Unilever’s Marketing Transformation to a Social First model powered by AI. Previous to this role she has worked on some Unilever’s most iconic brands such as Axe and DIG and led eCommerce and digital business development in Europe. Most recently, Selina was CEO of The Uncovery, Unilever’s New Business Creation incubator which used a start-up approach and mindset to launch new brands in the Beauty and Wellbeing space. Prior to this she studied Experimental Psychology at Oxford University.

The gathering will begin with a fireside chat and then Claude will lead us in a short reflection exercise. There will be plenty of time for audience Q&A. This will be a wonderful forum to have your questions answered and to share in the wisdom of the community.

The Global Compassion Community Gathering is co-hosted by Laura Berland and Evan Harrel, co-founders of the nonprofit Center for Compassionate Leadership, and Monica Worline, one of the preeminent voices bringing compassionate practices into organizations, co-author of the foundational book “Awakening Compassion at Work: The Quiet Power that Elevates People and Organizations” and Faculty Director of the Center for Positive Organizations at the University of Michigan.

Please register for this 60-minute celebration to connect, explore, and practice with like-mined leaders from around the world. The event will be recorded for those who cannot attend live and still wish to share in the powerful energy and inspiration.

We look forward to being together as we collectively spark action to birth a more compassionate world!
