Global Compassion Community Gathering: The Muhammad Ali Compassion Index
Free Community Event + Guest Speaker Farah Pandith

August 5, 2025 1:00-2:00 PM ET / 17:00-18:00 UTC

Welcome friends! We invite you to connect with the global community of compassionate colleagues and change-makers. Together we will explore the inaugural Muhammad Ali Compassion Index, a pioneering research study to track the cultural trends shaping compassion in cities across America. Please register for the free event to reserve your spot

The first rigorous, data-driven research to not only measure but predict the state of compassion today, the Muhammad Ali Index uses a unique blend of human and artificial intelligence. The study offers tremendous insights and opportunities for “Impact Partners” to use this data and drive behavioral change to create a more just and compassionate community. While the initial study is focused on 12 American cities, the research applies to building compassionate communities around the globe.

We are delighted to welcome Farah Pandith as our guest presenter. In fall 2020, the Muhammad Ali Center named Pandith the first-ever Muhammad Ali Global Peace Laureate for her proven track record of and commitment to promoting diversity, cohesion and respect.

She is an author, foreign policy strategist and former diplomat. A world-leading expert and pioneer in countering violent extremism (CVE), she is a frequent media commentator. She has also authored a book titled: How We Win: How Cutting-Edge Entrepreneurs, Political Visionaries, Enlightened Business Leaders, and Social Media Mavens Can Defeat the Extremist Threat. She served as a political appointee under Presidents George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama, and most recently she was the first-ever Special Representative to Muslim Communities, serving both Secretaries Clinton and Kerry. She has served on the National Security Council, at the U.S. Department of State, and USAID in various senior roles. She has also served on the Department of Homeland Security’s Advisory Council, chairing its task force on CVE.

Currently she is an adjunct senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations and a senior advisor at the Anti-Defamation League. She is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University and serves on several boards.

An open dialogue for Q&A will follow Farah’s presentation. This is a wonderful forum to have your questions answered and to share in the wisdom of the community.

The Global Compassion Community Gathering is co-hosted by Laura Berland and Evan Harrel, co-founders of the nonprofit Center for Compassionate Leadership.

Please register for this 60-minute celebration to connect, explore, and practice with like-mined leaders from around the world. The event will be recorded for those who cannot attend live and still wish to share in the powerful energy and inspiration.

We look forward to being together as we collectively spark action to birth a more compassionate world!
