Chief Wellbeing Officer Role within Veterans Health Administration

This session led by nurses in the Chief Wellbeing Officer (CWO) Role will discuss the position in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). The speakers will explore how this role contributes to the wellbeing of clinicians and the overall organizational health. They will also discuss the support mechanisms that are necessary for executing these strategies in the field, so that the wellbeing initiatives can truly make a difference in the lives of healthcare professionals. 

Learning Objectives:

1. Understand the role of the CWO in VHA: Attendees will be able to define the responsibilities, goals, and strategic importance of the Chief Wellbeing Officer within VHA, including how this role contributes to clinician wellbeing and organizational health.

2. Analyze key lessons in effective communication and role clarity: Attendees will summarize the critical lessons learned regarding effective communication strategies, clearly defining the role, and the management of competing initiatives within healthcare settings to enhance clinician wellbeing and operational efficiency.
